Sari Kaplon, MBA, RN, CNA is the Vice President for Patient Care Services
at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. In this position, Mrs. Kaplon is responsible
for all Administrative and Clinical Operations for the Department of
Patient Care Services, which includes the Nursing Department, Respiratory
Care, Applied Clinical Technology, Central Transport, Unit Management,
Infection Control, PAT and Cath Lab.
Prior to being named Vice President in 2001, Mrs. Kaplon was Assistant
Vice President for Patient Care Services at Saint Barnabas, and was
responsible for oversight of the Burn Center, new Cardiac Program, the
Emergency Department and other Critical Care areas. She began her Nursing
career at North Hudson/Palisades General Medical Center as a staff nurse
and then Nurse Manager before joining the staff at the New York Hospital
Burn Center in the early 1980’s. She then came to Saint Barnabas
as the Nurse Manager of the Burn Center.
Mrs. Kaplon is an alumni of Bergen Community College, St. Peter’s
College and recently received her MBA.
Mrs. Kaplon is a member of the American Burn Association, The American
Association of Critical Care Nursing and The Society of Critical Care
Medicine. She has published and presented papers nationally on burn
prevention and education and was crucial in helping institute many new
initiatives at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
